1.Physical and chemical properties

2.Auxiliary material for grinding wheel
In contemporary grinding wheel production, cryolite (Na3AlF6) is widely added as an auxiliary material and becomes a necessary material. Its main functions are as follows:
(1) Effectively reduce the grinding surface temperature and oxidation degree. Because cryolite has a low melting point, it melts under the action of grinding heat and needs to absorb the grinding heat. At the same time, due to melting, the abrasive grains fall off, thereby preventing the grinding wheel from clogging.
(2) Reduce the burned area of the cutting object. Due to the melting of cryolite, it absorbs heat and reduces the grinding temperature, thereby reducing the burned area of cutting objects and grinding parts.
(3) Increase cutting and grinding speed. Cryolite melts into a liquid and is a good lubricant that increases cutting speed.
(4) During the grinding process, cryolite can be decomposed and separated to fluorine after melting, which is beneficial to the grinding and cutting of steel, so cryolite is especially suitable for dry grinding wheels without coolant.
(5) Extend the service life of the grinding wheel. The effects of the above aspects, combined, will prolong the effective service life of the grinding wheel, and at the same time reduce the production cost.
