Synthetic Cryolite in different physical states

According to its physical properties, syntheitc cryolite can be divided into sandy cryolite, granular cryolite and powder cryolite. The different characteristics are as follows:
(1) Sandy synthetic cryolite. Fine sand shape, good fluidity, good for transportation, convenient for mechanization and automatic feeding; fast melting speed, can shorten the time to enter the normal working state; low water content, small loss of fluorine; molecular ratio can be adjusted in a large range, can Adapt to the different requirements of the cryolite molecular ratio in different periods of the electrolytic cell. These advantages of sand-like cryolite make it widely used in the production process of electrolytic aluminum, but the use of sand-like cryolite in other industries is not as good as that of powdered cryolite.
(2) Powdered syntheitc cryolite. Powdered cryolite can reach a higher fineness, usually with a sieve hole of less than 75 μm, and a molecular ratio between 1.6 and 2.9, which has good adjustability. Ultra-fine products, especially those with a sieve hole of 45 μm and a pass rate of over 98%, can meet the requirements of special industries for cryolite. Powdered cryolite is suitable for opening electrolytic cells, and is especially suitable for wear-resistant fillers for resin grinding wheels, metal fluxes, glass opacifiers, enamel opalescent agents, etc.
(3) Granular syntheitc cryolite. It is the product of powdered cryolite after mechanical pressing, and its chemical properties are exactly the same as those of powdered cryolite; but the change of physical properties makes it have some new features: good fluidity, suitable for mechanized feeding; most of the particles are 1 ~10mm, greatly reducing dust pollution, especially suitable for feeding during normal production of electrolytic aluminum.
